New Study Reveals Every State’s Favorite Little Debbie Snack and Indiana, We Need to Talk

Outside of my wife, daughter, and mother, Little Debbie may be my favorite woman on the planet. Since I was a kid, I have enjoyed her delicious snack cakes. I've had everything from her Swiss Cake Rolls, Fudge Rounds, Powdered Mini Donuts, Devil Squares, and more. I've been eating Little Debbie Snack Cakes for so long, I remember when her brownies had chopped nuts on top of them instead of the tiny chocolate candies. My point is, they are delicious. I know this. You know this. But when it comes to Indiana's favorite Little Debbie delicacy, I'm as disappointed as the grandmother in the picture above.

I could probably count on one hand the Little Debbie products I won't eat. I don't get all goofy for pumpkin spice, nor am I a big fan of sprinkles (it's a texture thing), so I typically steer clear of anything with those ingredients. What I am a big fan of is chocolate, so when I need my fix, I'll usually look for my personal favorite, Swiss Cake Rolls, or a Fudge Round. Neither of which is the most popular choice in the Hoosier State.

No, according to Chicco, that distinction falls to — Fancy Cakes.

Full disclosure, even though I consider myself to be somewhat of a Little Debbie aficionado, I didn't know these existed. My first reaction when I saw Chicco's list was, "Fancy Cakes?!?! What the !*@$ are Fancy Cakes?"

So, What Are Fancy Cakes?

Listen, I'm proud to say I was born and raised in Indiana, and have lived here my entire life, but come on, with all the wonderful choices Little Debbie provides us, we prefer arguably the most bland choice of them all? Although, you could argue the choice is pretty on-brand. After all, we are the same state whose favorite beverage is water.

I'm sure Fancy Cakes are just as delicious as any other snack cake Little Debbie bakes, and if one was offered to me, I'd inhale it, but do me a favor, expand your pallet, go beyond the Fancy Cake. Pick up a package of Swiss Cake Rolls or cupcakes. Give a honey bun a try, or maybe a Peanut Butter Crunch Bar. You might just find yourself a new favorite.
