Will Evansville See Fall-Like Tempatures For the Fall Festival?
The 104th West Side Nut Club Fall Festival returns to Franklin Street in Evansville next week, but will it actually feel like fall outside, or will the heat continue?
The 104th West Side Nut Club Fall Festival returns to Franklin Street from October 6th through 11th. This is a weeklong event that has taken place on Franklin Street on the City's west side during the first full week of October every year since 1921. It's organized by the West Side Nut Club, a non-profit group that distributes the proceeds from the festival and other fundraising events it hosts during the year to local schools and other non-profits, as well as using them to fund community projects it creates.

For those of us who live here, like myself, at least one trip to the festival during the week is a requirement. Why? Because of the food! Over 100 local non-profits are lined along Franklin Street serving up some delicious and unique foods that you can only get your hands on once a year during the Fall Festival. On top of the food booths, there are also rides and games for the whole family to enjoy!
What's The Fall Festival Forecast?
As you know, we have had a brutal, humid summer. A month or so ago, we had a week full of fall-like temperatures, then the heat returned with a vengeance. We haven't seen fall weather since then. Is it possible that we'll get to experience the Fall Festival with fall-like weather?
According to Eyewitness News Chief Meteorologist Wayne Hart, don't count on it. On social media, Wayne explained that there is high confidence that the temperatures will be warmer than normal next week in Evansville. Highs are expected to be in the 80s; however, there will be "noticeable but tolerable" humidity. Wayne Hart also says that a few showers are possible throughout the week, but it looks like it will be pretty dry until later in the week when a cold front will be moving into Evansville.
If you're from this area, you know that Southern Indiana weather at the beginning of October can be quite fickle. There have been several Fall Festival weeks where you will walk around sweating your behind off, wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Likewise, there have been years where it's been cold and rainy during Fall Festival week. In 2025, it looks like it will be a shorts and t-shirt kind of Fall Festival week. So, stay cool and stay hydrated going out to the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival.
Keep an eye on Eyewitness News for any updates to the Fall Festival forecast, but so far, it looks like next week will be a little warm while you're walking around Franklin Street and enjoying some delicious food!
