Heartfelt Boonville Goodwill Find Leads to Search for “Kasey”

UPDATE: Kasey has been found! The book was donated by mistake and it is being returned to him! Thanks, everyone, for sharing!

A local woman bought a book at the Boonville Goodwill, and the heartfelt message found inside has her and the community searching for its rightful owner.

An Unexpected Goodwill Find

You can find a lot of cool things at Goodwill. Things that might surprise you, quite honestly. That's kind of what happened when one local woman recently paid a visit to the Goodwill in Boonville, Indiana. Rya Annaleese picked up what appeared to be an ordinary devotional book. However, what she discovered inside of it has her searching for someone named Kasey.

Inside this devotional, "Evening by Evening," is a handwritten message to someone named Kasey, from her mother. The message is dated December 24, 2021, and reads:

"Kasey, I love you forever! -Mom

Always remember, I'll see you in heaven."

That's not all, though. Inside the book itself is an unopened envelope with another message written on it from Kasey's mother. The writing on the envelope says:

"Do not open 'till things get tough with me. Love Mom

P.S. I am praying they done!"

As one might assume, based on those messages, it appears that Kasey's mom had some sort of medical condition that was pretty serious. Given the fact that the envelope remains unopened, Kasey might have overlooked this book when donating to Goodwill, if it was even Kasey that donated it. That's why Rya is desperately looking to return the devotional and the envelope inside of it to Kasey. The only problem is, we don't know who Kasey is.
