Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Fiesta Evansville on October 8th
When most of us think of Hispanic culture, I assume our first thoughts are of all the great food dishes associated with it. I mean, Hispanic culture gave us burritos, tacos, nachos, enchiladas, quesadillas, and more. Fortunately, we have several great restaurants in the Evansville area where we can get our fix of any one of those dishes whenever the mood strikes, but Hispanic culture is more than incredible food. It's filled with rich traditions each with deep meanings. All of which will be on display during the upcoming Fiesta Evansville event at Wesselman Woods.
9th Annual Fiesta Evansville Celebration Set for Sunday, October 8th
Billed as the largest Latino festival in the region, this year's event is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 8th, and will give you the opportunity to explore, understand, and gain a better understanding of our Latino friends and neighbors living in the Evansville area.
While the day will feature a few international food booths allowing you to enjoy some of your favorite Hispanic dishes (and maybe try a few you're not familiar with), it will also feature cultural exhibits, entertainment booths, and live entertainment including, Flamenco dancer, Alejandra Sandoval García from Mexico as well as Puerto Rican Salsa Band, Grupo Bembe from Indianapolis.
The event is open to the public, free to attend, and looks to be an incredibly fun time. You can see more of what organizers have in store on the Fiesta Evansville Facebook page.
