Body Cam Shows Missouri K9 Help Rescue Missing Child

This could have ended tragically, but miraculously didn't. New body cam video captured the moment when Missouri police and their K9 team located a lost child deep in the woods of Lincoln County.

The Lincoln County, Missouri Sheriff's Office shared this heroic video on their Facebook page not that long ago. It shows the moment when Corporal McPike located what appeared to be a child's footprint and also a dog print. Deputy Rumple and K9 Nicky were brought into the search and immediately began searching the woods for the lost child.

I noticed in the comments on Facebook that a nearby neighbor mentioned that they saw one of the deputies searching in the woods and offered water, but he refused saying he wanted to keep looking. The news is notorious for always sharing negative stories about law enforcement, but I think it's stories like this that need to be spread more often. Thanks to Missouri police officers and their canines, a young child made it safely back to his family. I have many family members that have worked in Missouri law enforcement over the years and they would attest to the fact that there are many more in that line of work that are honorable and dedicated compared to the minority that are not.
