The two restaurants you have to visit no matter before the end of 2023 are Dasies and Thattu both in Chicago. the New York Times puts both of these places on the list of 20 restaurants to visit.

Daisies

Opening just this year and offers delicious Italian food.

Chefs serving “authentic” fritto misto in landlocked locations typically enlist the help of airfreighted squid. That’s not how Joe Frillman does things. His Italian-inspired cuisine is authentically Midwestern.

Sign me up. I really enjoy trying new Italian restaurants and as much as we visit Chicago, this is one of those that I will have to try.

Thattu

Flavor, spice, and a little heat are what you're going to get at this Indian restaurant that also opened in 2023. Located in Chicago, Thattu brings so many flavors to the Midwest.

This former food-hall stand serving fare from the coastal southwest region of Kerala in India has found a larger home for its loud flavors, courtesy of the owners Margaret Pak and Vinod Kalathil. Everything here, down to the stainless steel plates the food is served on, feels homestyle.

Trying to find the best is always a bit difficult, but I have to say these two restaurants sound amazing and are on my to-try bucket list for sure.
