WalletHub has come out with a list called 2023's Best & Worst States for Singles, and Illinois is the 6th best state in the country for singles according to their data. Illinois ranks behind only California, New York, Florida, Texas, and Pennsylvania as the best states for singles. So why does Illinois rank so high on this list? On the site they say...

"WalletHub compared the 50 states across 30 key indicators of dating-friendliness. Our data set ranges from the share of single adults to online-dating opportunities to restaurants per capita."

Illinois ranks as the 6th best state for dating opportunities, and the 6th best state for romance and fun, but does rank very low on the dating economics ranking at 37th. Illinois is 5th in the country for restaurants per capita, so that certainly helps when trying to plan a date. Is it shocking that the 6th best states for singles are the 6 MOST populated states in the US?

For our listeners and readers on the Missouri side of the river, Missouri ranks 27th on this list... one of the main reasons why Missouri is so low on this list is that it is ranked 33rd in dating opportunities, there must not be that many single people in the Show-Me State.
