Iggy Azalea Defends Her Decision to Continue Concert After Backup Dancer’s Seizure
Iggy Azalea is defending her decision to continue performing after one of her backup dancers suffered a seizure.
The Australian rapper assure fans, first and foremost, that the dancer "is OKAY!" She went on to reveal that "lights & heat" contributed to the seizure, adding that she and her team "are all really shaken up by what happened," despite continuing on with the show like nothing happened.
"It may sound harsh but; you keep singing until music stops & ask for a medic which is what I did," she said, sharing with fans that she believed the dancer "had just fallen/twisted her ankle."
Azalea went on to say, "I know it's easy to make memes of someone 'passed out' but someone having a seizure isn't funny, it's really scary! So I hope my fans do not repost some of the memes I'm seeing about my dancer."
After the incident, Azalea returned to social media with a scary message about how "worn down" she is by the Internet. She said in her Instagram post that she was struggling to exist "in a world where I can do nothing right."
"sometimes I really feel exhausted by the world, it feels like ANY thing I do becomes an opportunity for people to tell me why I'm s---, why my music sucks, my clothes are ugly, why I don't matter or why I'm a horrible person," she wrote. "The last 4 years are just be existing in a world where I can do nothing right & it's hard not to feel like 'what's the point' & keep motivated."
Azalea added, "Everyone is just trying to make it through their day. Could we be a little kinder to each other? Seeing how much people enjoy being awful to one another is depressing."
