‘Ice Cream & a Moovie’ Throughout the Summer at This Popular KY Attraction

I attended Western Kentucky University for four years and got my communications degree in 1988. I enjoyed my time in Bowling Green and love the area. Little did I know what was brewing just down the road.

In 2023, familiar brown signs point the way to Chaney's Dairy Barn on Nashville Road/US 31 W. While I was in school, it was JUST a dairy farm...a very active one. But in 2003, Chaney's Dairy Barn, as we know it today, was established. And it's been a popular destination for tourists and locals ever since.

I can't recommend visiting Chaney's Dairy Barn enough. And I doubt it will take a lot of arm-twisting to entice folks to visit this summer, as Chaney's has released its summer movie schedule. It's called "Ice Cream & a Moovie," and it's something the entire family will enjoy. Well, the entire family will enjoy Chaney's Dairy Barn ANYTIME, just like we did in 2019.

Chaney's Dairy Barn -- the Farm Tour

Yes, it's not just extraordinary ice cream and great burgers. It's tantamount to a small theme park, in my opinion, because there's so much to do. After eating and shopping in the gift shop--or BEFORE--you can take the big wagon ride down to the barn and watch how this massive farm operates. It's fun AND educational. And who wouldn't want to check out a robot milking a cow? (The demonstration begins at 3:00.)

Of course, kids can learn how to do it the old-fashioned way, too.

Beginning the weekend of May 19-20, these are the movies--or I guess I should say "moovies"--guests will enjoy with some magnificent ice cream at Chaney's Dairy Barn during "Ice Cream & a Moovie":

June 30-July 1: Sonic the Hedgehog 2

July 14-15: The Bad Guys

July 28-29: Turning Red

August 11-12: Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile

September 1-2: Finding Nemo

September 15-16: The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Movies and ice cream and OUTDOORS. That last element might be my favorite part. No wait, never mind. It's the ice cream. When it comes to Chaney's Dairy Barn, it will ALWAYS be the ice cream.
