How Your Donations Help Provide ‘Great Futures’ at Boys & Girls Club of Evansville [Podcast]
Ten bucks isn't a lot of money these days - it certainly doesn't goes as far as it used to. Heck, most of us will probably spend $10 just on lunch today. Imagine for a second, trying to take care of someone, let's say a kid, for an entire year with just $10. I'm talking about food, drinks, education, activities and more, but you only have $10. Seems pretty impossible doesn't it? When you think about it like that, you realize how impressive it is that the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville does all of those things, for hundreds of kids, for a mere $10 yearly fee. But, in order to sustain that low membership fee, the B&G Club depends on donations from you and the community.
The Great Futures Campaign is underway now, and with your help, the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville hopes to raise $100,000 which will "provide after-school math and reading help, homework help, art and computer technology, a variety of sport activities, alcohol and substance abuse prevention and will continue EDUCATING Club members on the importance of living healthy lives everyday."
Our friend Shanna Groeninger (the clubs's Resource Development Director), joined us on the MY Morning Show to tell us more about the Great Futures Campaign as well as one of the most exciting times at the club - their annual Christmas Store!
