Here at WBKR, 'tis the season for Christmas Wish. 2022 marks our charity's 46th anniversary season of making Christmas wishes come true for families in need here in western Kentucky and southern Indiana. Our mission, like it has been since the 70s, is simple- to make sure that "every child in the Tristate gets a visit from Santa on Christmas."

Last year, our 45th season, was an incredibly busy and heartwarming one. In 2021, Christmas Wish helped over 6,000 children and made Christmas dreams a reality for over 1600 families in the WBKR listening area.  We're expecting a potentially busier season in 2022.

If you're familiar with Christmas Wish, you know we do our very best to make sure children have toys under their trees for Christmas and their families have a Christmas meal on the table as well.  This is all made possible by donations and an incredible army of volunteers from here in the community. And, of course, Christmas Wish is driven by WBKR midday personality, Barb Birgy, who serves as our Executive Director.

The most important member of the Christmas Wish team, however, is YOU! And we rely on YOU for toy and monetary donations and your volunteer hours (if you're able to join us the Christmas Wish office and become one of Santa's elves).

We also rely on YOU to let us know about families here in the Tristate that truly need our assistance.  We make doing that quite simple. We ask that you submit a Christmas Wish letter on behalf families that you know who may need some additional help this holiday season.

There are a few ways to send us a Christmas Wish letter. 1) You can write one and mail it. 2) You can hand deliver it when the Christmas Wish office opens to the public 3) You can submit a letter to us online and we have that convenient form below.

WHERE IS THE 2023 CHRISTMAS WISH OFFICE?

Once again, we will be back at Towne Square North here in Owensboro. We will be located between Hibbett’s and Mega Replay in the shopping center. Thanks to the owners and stores at Towne Square North for their incredible generosity and commitment to supporting our mission. If you drop a letter off to us, you can do so when the Christmas Wish office opens to the public on Monday, November 21st.

HOW TO SUBMIT A CHRISTMAS WISH LETTER ONLINE

We have created a Christmas Wish submission form (below) and you can submit your letter electronically. It is vitally important that you supply all the information requested. It helps our elves establish and verify need and it assists them with adding those children to Santa's list and to shop for them accordingly.

Take a Look Back at These Special Christmas Wish Moments

The 45th Season of Christmas Wish is in the books! Here's a look back at what was a very special year of giving. 1,628 families in need received Christmas because of your generosity. Over 5,000 children had presents under the tree. Around 1,200 families had a Christmas meal on the table, and over 25,000 gifts were handed out this holiday season. #blessing
