A message this evening from my friend Leah Koch, who is a fourth-generation owner of Holiday World and Splashin' Safari.  Leah has confirmed the inevitable.  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, Holiday World will delay the grand opening day at least until June.

In addition to announcing the delay of the season opening date, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, Leah also gave updates about the construction of the park's new launched water coaster, Cheetah Chase.  If you're like me, you cannot wait to ride this!  It's going to be incredible.

Luckily, the final piece of fiberglass for the ride was installed before the social distancing guidelines were put into place and work on the project was temporarily halted.  However, according to Leah's official press release this afternoon, it will open but "there are still a lot of variables beyond our control."

As for HoliWood Nights, Holiday World's annual coaster enthusiasts weekend, the park is planning to reschedule that event.  By the way, I attend that event nearly every year and it is one of the most fun weekends you could ever have.  I highly recommend looking into coaster clubs.
