Holiday World Places Tower Atop Santa’s Merry Marketplace [Video]

It was a big day in Santa Claus, Indiana today!  Holiday World officially lifted a brand new, 5000-pound tower top into place at the park's brand new Santa's Merry Marketplace.  Watch!!

When Holiday World opens for the season it will feature the brand new Santa's Merry Marketplace.  The Marketplace occupies what used to be Kringle's Kafe and will feature five serving stations offering a variety of menu items!   Plus the space will feature the Candy Cane Confectionary, Sugarplum Scoop Shoppe and a coffee shop called the Polar Expresso.

Today, we got a tour inside the new construction!  What used to be Kringle's Kafe has gotten a complete makeover and transformation.

According to Holiday World President Matt Eckert, Santa's Merry Marketplace will feature five food concepts: Asian, a grill, pizza/pasta, a deli and a food section just for kids!  And, by the way, don't worry!  If you were a fan of the pizza and burgers at Kringle's Kafe, Santa's Merry Marketplace will have that too!

This season, Holiday World will feature 110 new menu items, more than half of which will be served at Santa's Merry Marketplace.  Today, we got a sneak peek (and taste test) of some of the new menu items.  Look!

Another really neat and festive addition to the park is the balcony at Santa's Merry Marketplace.  According to Matt Eckert, each day, when the park opens, guests will feel like "they're walking into Christmas".  Santa will be on the balcony greeting park-goers as they arrive!

Holiday World opens for the season on Saturday, May 4th!  While construction continues on Santa's Merry Marketplace, it is on track to be open and serving guests on opening day!  Merry Christmas.
