I remember a while back that someone had made mention of an ACLU app or something that would let you access your video functions on your phone in case of an altercation with the police.

Justice is within your reach.

Take the ACLU on the go, for free. Download the Mobile Justice app now on your iOS or Android device. (ACLU)

At a time when headlines and broadcasts abound with news about racial profiling, harassment and police brutality, the ACLU of Michigan believes it is critical that citizens be equipped with the best tools available for ensuring law-enforcement accountability.

To that end, we've created Mobile Justice MI, a mobile-device application that gives you the power to record and report police abuse with the push of a button. (ACLU)

If you watch the video, the app allows you to record video and to send it to the ACLU at the touch of a button.

And this was back in 2015.

Here we are in 2020 and the same problems persist. With police violence and the killing of George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks, and countless others. The protests continue nationwide.Worldwide.

People are looking for solutions. And more tools to help in the fight.

To have proof of wrongdoing.

Now Apple and Siri have taken what the ACLU has done a bit further. Or at least adapted it for today.

You can't just say, "Hey Siri, I'm getting pulled over". There are steps to take to get it installed and set up first.

You have to use an app called "Shortcuts" already on your iPhone.

The instructions are detailed in the video above and if you CLICK HERE (there's a photo gallery that will guide you through the steps as well).

It's worth the time to set it up. A simple voice command will start recording video, upload it to your cloud account, and send your emergency contact your location.

Again, it is on your iPhone, it's not automatic, and you have to set it up.
