Whenever you Google something, Google will normally try to guess what you are trying to type. These results are often the things that people are frequently Googling about any particular subject.

For example, this is what you get when you Google "Is Leonardo DiCaprio"

I guess enough people are constantly wondering if Leonardo DiCaprio still exists on this mortal coil, if he's married, and if he prefers the flesh of animals for food or if he enjoys veggies.

Anyway, I decided that I would do this by Googling "Why is Evansville" and see what Google suggested. The results were...interesting.

1. Why is Evansville called Pocket City

I was surprised by this one because I've never heard anyone call Evansville the Pocket City and I've heard it called several things (some of which I'm not allowed to type out). I guess it's called Pocket City based on our location in the state and something about crests and the Ohio River. Jacob Platt Dunn wrote an article about it in 1912 in the Indiana Geographical Nomenclature. You can read all about it and then put people to sleep at parties by telling them that you read part of the Indiana Geographical Nomenclature.

2. Why is Evansville so fat

I wasn't surprised to see this one. You get voted the fattest city in America ONE TIME and suddenly that's all your known for. Granted, we sometimes don't help ourselves with the amount of fast food restaurants we have. The Fall Festival is basically a week of gluttony that would fit in nicely on the gluttony circle of Hell from Dante's Inferno. We're doing better though and haven't been fattest city champion since 2011. Cut us some slack, Google.

3. Why is Black Buggy in Evansville IN Closed

Well, this certainly isn't helping our case for not being the fattest city in America when one of your top Google searches is asking why an all you can eat buffet is shut down. Basically the Black Buggy shut down because sometimes businesses do that? Google doesn't really provide a good answer besides the economy and stuff like that. So yeah, sometimes buffets close down and we have to Google it until the end of time.

There you have it! That is what Google thinks about Evansville when you type our fine city into the search engine!
