Have a Girls Only Gal-entine’s Day Celebration
Celebrate being single this weekend with a Gal-entine's Day brunch with the girls! While February 14th is still the day for lovers, the week of the 13th is dedicated to Sisterhood. Women in New York have been gathering together on rooftops for years during the week of V-Day, wearing all pink, drinking Momosas in single's solidarity.
It all started on little known show called Park and Recreation, 10 years ago, when Amy Poehler character Leslie has her female friends over for brunch, exchange gifts and write uplifting letters of about each other.
According to the New York Times, tickets for a Galentine's Day brunch on the Monarch Rooftop in Midtown Manhattan were $40. The event featured Leslie’s favorite, frittatas and waffles but also “avo-cuddle” toast, “bae-gals” and fries “B4 guys.”
So gather all your single friends together this weekend, break out the champagne, and celebrate Sisterhood with your very own Galentine's Day party!
