Handmaid’s Tale – The Weekend Binge

This Hulu original will have you cringing!

The Handmaid's Tale is a show that I had no idea about before I started. I knew that it was based on a book but really didn't know much besides that. All I kept hearing was that the show was great, and also that it was brutal. As someone who spent most of high school watching obscure horror, I figured this would be a cake walk.

It's not.

Handmaid's Tale is visceral in it's depiction of a society where infertility is an epidemic. I can handle a lot but some of the stuff that the show portrays is pretty horrible. However, you really connect with the characters and want them to succeed and become free. You can't really binge watch more than 1 or 2 episodes at a time because the show can be really heavy and, honestly, quite depressing.

If you are a fan of great acting and the distopian future genre, Handmaid's Tale is definitely something you should check out.
