Internships are a great way to gain valuable work experience for your chosen career, and the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana are looking for a few interns this summer to help mold girls into strong women.

The Evansville-based chapter of the Scouts posted the position earlier this week on Facebook.

In case you're reading this on your phone, the graphic says the purpose of the internship is "to provide The Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls by facilitating programs prescribed by the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana in assigned schools and community organizations."

Responsibilities of the internship include "maintaining and extending The Girl Scout Leadership Experience through membership and providing program opportunities for girls in the targeted area." The post goes on to say, "It is the incumbent's job to maintain a safe environment that will help the girls grow in self-esteem and character," and that, "girls should be encouraged to set goals and develop skills through various activities and curriculum."

No prior experience with the organization is necessary. However, the organization is looking for individuals who "believe in the mission and purpose of the Girl Scout Movement," and "possess the ability to work independently, take direction, and provide their own transportation."

If you check all the boxes, and are ready to jump on board with the Girl Scouts, e-mail your resumé to Membership Recruiter, Kaylee DeLuc at KLeDuc@girlscouts-gssi.org.
