The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to the identification of the person or persons responsible for the arson at a Tennessee reproductive health clinic

The Crime

According to a press release from the FBI issued on January 19, 2023, a person or persons who have yet to be identified threw a Molotov cocktail through the window of a reproductive health clinic in Tennessee. In addition to throwing the incendiary, the suspect(s) also spray painted the words "Jane's Revenge" on the exterior of the building that houses the Hope Clinic for Women, located in Nashville. The incident took place around 1:30 am on the morning of June 30, 2022. The Hope Clinic for Women is located at 1810 Hayes Street in Nashville.

Potential Punishment

According to the FBI, the crime is a violation of Title 18 USC. A violation of this nature carries a potential penalty of up to 20 years in prison. They say it may also be a violation of the law regarding Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances.

This criminal act is a violation of Title 18 U.S.C. § 844(i), Destruction by Means of a Fire or Explosive, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in federal prison, and potentially, a violation of Title 18 U.S.C. § 248(a)(3), Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances.

As part of a national effort to bring awareness to a series of attacks and threats targeting reproductive health service facilities across the country, the FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect(s) responsible for this crime.
