EVSC and Tri-State Marching Bands Head to Semi-State This Weekend
All of the EVSC marching bands and several other bands from the area (about 15 in all) have advanced to the ISSMA semi-state competitions happening this Saturday at locations around Indiana. That means they are just one step (slight marching pun intended) away from playing at Lucas Oil Stadium for a state championship!
This will be the toughest test for these bands, for a couple reasons. First off, they are competing against the best bands in the state in their class. The top 10 bands from each class will advance to state. Secondly, they will be playing outside and Saturday is looking like a cold day in and around Indianapolis. The forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high in the lower 40's.
If you know a student who is competing this weekend, give them shout, a hug, a high five, a whatever. Show them some love and support and wish them luck because this is a big, big deal. Here's a list of the bands and where they are playing. My apologies if I leave out anyone. You can always check out the complete schedules.
