We learned on Friday that the Holiday Inn Evansville Airport had closed it's doors but the reason why wasn't immediately clear, although there were rumors on social media that it would become an assisted living facility. On February 1, 2020, Omninet Holding Inc, the parent company to the Holiday Inn Evansville Airport sent out a press release that confirms those rumors. According to the press release:

We are pleased to announce that the Holiday Inn Evansville Airport will be undergoing a     very exciting conversion into a first class assisted living community. This transformation will fulfill market demand as well as provide a large number of job opportunities.

Many of the hotel team members will be offered employment during the transition.  The new operation is expected to have a higher number of employees than the previous hotel required to operate.

A timeline for the transformation has not been released.
