Evansville Veteran’s Day Parade Seeking Participants
The River City Thunderbolts, an Evansville-based, military vehicle preservation group, is looking to surpass last year's total of 39 entries for this year's event scheduled to take place at 2:30pm on Saturday, November 10th.
In an interview with the Evansville Courier & Press, Parade Chairman and River City Thunderbolts President Garry Hisel says the organization has received less than 15 entries for this year's parade which will begin near Casino Aztar and end at the Four Freedom's Monument on the opposite end of Riverside Drive.
Outside of participants providing vehicles, floats, and personnel for people to see, the group is also doing what they can to get the word out to the public so there are people on hand to actually see it. Parade organizer Davie Sue Wallace to the Courier & Press, "It hasn't had a grand reception, and so we are really trying to bump it up".
The group has launched a Facebook page for the event which features pictures from previous year's parades along with Thunderclub.org where those interested in being a part of the event can download the parade registration form.
