As a teen, I spent a lot of time checking out books and movies from our local libraries. The librarians were always super knowledgeable about what they had and were always quick to recommend good reads or movies. It's with that said, that I'm super excited to say that the EVPL is nominated for a national award!

This was first reported by Courier and Press writer, Shannon Hall. According to the article, the EVPL is nominated for the National Medal for Museum and Library Service honors "outstanding institutions that make significant and exceptional contributions to their communities." That last part is especially true for our libraries. Whenever I go, there are always tons of teens hanging out. They could be out getting into trouble, but instead, they are spending their afternoons at the library and the staff are always very accommodating.

The winner of the award will be announced later this spring in a ceremony in Washington, D.C. You can check out the rest of the article here.
