The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library (EVPL) is a non-profit organization that has been a part of the Tri-State for over a hundred years. The EVPL has eight branches around Vanderburgh County and provides thousands and thousands and thousands of resources, absolutely free. Books, music and movies is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg - our public libraries offer so much more, both in person and online.

In order to continue providing all this knowledge for free, the EVPL needs to raise money throughout the year. One way they do that is through book sales. Unfortunately, thanks to that doggone COVID-19, the EVPL will have to postpone this summer's sale. The EVPL Foundation, want to err on the side of caution and safety, made the announcement, and says a new date has not yet been determined.

Don't let this postponement prevent you from supporting the library or taking advantage of their services. You can still make donations online, along with having 24/7 access to the EVPL's massive digital collection. And you can still check items out of your favorite local library branch, you just need to use the new EVPL To Go curbside pickup service.

The powers that be - the EVPL Board of Trustees and the EVPL Foundation Board of Trustees - will continue to monitor this ever-changing situation, and once they determine the conditions are right, they will re-schedule the book sale. We will definitely keep you posted as soon as we hear any new information.
