On Saturday all four Starbucks locations in the Evansville area will donate 10% of their sales to the family of 17 year old Evansville resident Josh Franklin.

On June 7th, Josh was diagnosed with a rare type of brain tumor. In fact, this tumor is so rare that Josh is one of only 70 reported cases worldwide. In the weeks that followed, Josh has undergone 9 CT Scans, 3 MRI's, had a shunt implanted to relieve pressure, a biopsy, and 2 brain surgeries. If that wasn't enough, he will undergo chemotherapy treatments in Indianapolis and proton therapy in Bloomington for the remainder of 2011.

As you can imagine, treatments and procedures of this frequency and magnitude can result in skyrocketing medical bills which is why Starbucks has stepped up to the plate and made the generous offer to donate 10% of their sales on Saturday to Josh's family.

106-1 KISS-FM along with our sister stations, 103GBF, 99.5 WKDQ, & 105.3 WJLT will be broadcasting live tomorrow from 8-10am at different Starbucks locations around Evansville. So be sure to swing by as you head out to tackle your Saturday plans and know that your helping a fellow member of our community in his battle with cancer.

You'll find a Starbucks at the following locations in Evansville:

  • 512 North Green River Road
  • 4650 1st Avenue
  • 6401 E. Lloyd Expressway (corner of Lloyd Expressway & Burkhardt)
  • 7755 State Rd. 66, Newburgh
