Integrity Management Engineer
Job Description
Under direct supervision, the Engineer, Integrity Management I performs engineering analysis on simple to moderately complex projects to support the four steps required in an integrity assessment of a transmission pipeline asset: pre-assessment, indirect inspection, direct examination and the post assessment process, with regular supervision. This individual aids in the preliminary steps to prepare the pipeline for the necessary modifications needed to accurately perform the pipeline assessment processes. Assists with the communications process from the Integrity Management department to the field operations and other stakeholder groups to effectively plan and execute the work. This individual needs to gain further knowledge of the regulatory compliance codes that serve this position and be able to find solutions to effectively fulfill Vectren’s responsibilities for these rule s.
This position specifically focuses on project management and execution of In-line Inspection Assessments. This individual will manage each in-line inspection assessment project throughout its lifecycle in coordination with the Integrity Management Division Engineer, Field Supervisor, Integrity Management and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, engineering or engineering technology (ABET accredited program) and valid driver’s license.
Preferred: Mechanical, civil, or chemical discipline. Engineer-In-Training (EIT) license.
Experience Required: 0 - 2 years utility or relevant industry experience.
Preferred:Experience within a regulated or utility environment.
Functional/Technical Competency Requirements
Required: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
Strong understanding of engineering principles, exhibit solid analytical, reasoning, and problem solving skills. Ability to learn AutoCAD, GIS, and other PC and Engineering applications. Excellent Organization and Multitasking skills.
