The WBKR St. Jude Radiothon is coming up on Thursday, February 4th and Friday, February 5th.  For the last few years, one of our annual kick off events has been the Cuties for a Cure pageant.  Obviously, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, pageant coordinator Michelle Vincent had to get creative this year.  And, holy toddlers and tiaras!  Has she?

This year's Cuties for a Cure pageant is going virtual and participating contestants will be battling for the Batting for Brock Supreme title. If you have a cutie who'd like to compete and help raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, here's what you need to do.

Please inbox us a photo of your "cutie" along with name and age.  Here are the age divisions: 0-23 months, 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-10, and 11 & up. Photos can be sent via Messenger to the Cuties for a Cure Facebook page or you can email your photo to Cuties4acurepageant@yahoo.com.

Once photos are received, they will be on display on the official Cuties for a Cure event page on Facebook. Each contestant is asked to raise money to be eligible for the Batting for Brock Supreme title. The second highest fundraiser will be awarded the Cuties for a Cure Mini Supreme in honor of Emma Joy Ford.  Plus, there will also be winners in each age division.

And, yes!  Even though this year's pageant is virtual, there are crowns up for grabs!  The crown on the left is the Batting for Brock Supreme crown.  The crown in the middle is for the Emma Ford Mini Supreme. The crown on the right represents what each age division winner will receive.

Plus, this is fun!  In addition to winning a crown, each winner will get to choose a fun prize for participating and supporting the cause.

Here's how the "votes" are tallied.  Basically, $1 equals one vote.  A $20 donation equals twenty votes.  All proceeds raised will be presented as the Cuties for a Cure donation during the annual WBKR St. Jude Radiothon.

Winners will have their crown, sash and gift mailed to them.

Perhaps the best part of this year's virtual pageant is that it's open to any child (girls and boys), regardless of where that child lives.  And, anyone can donate from anywhere.  That includes folks who want to make a donation in memory of Brock.  Last year, shortly before he lost his battle with cancer, Brock Pederson raised $1300 from his hospital bed. Pageant Director Michelle Vincent, who spent much time at Brock's bedside, says, "That’s my goal this year- $1300.  Better yet, let's blow that out of the water."  Doing so, will be a great tribute to and celebration of Brock, who gained his angel wings just two months after last years pageant.

The last day to get donations in is Wednesday, Feb 3rd, 2021.  Donations can be sent via Venmo to 270-543-4476 or, if you're local, pageant coordinator Michelle Vincent can and will meet you to collect.  If there are donations made via check, all checks should be made payable to St. Jude.

All winners (and the grand total collected) will be announced at in the 11am hour, Friday, February 5th, during the WBKR St. Jude Radiothon.
