Comic Quest Fundraiser for Cancer Patient HUGE SUCCESS!

I blogged about it here, and on Friday night, I stopped by Comic Quest to check out the "Cancer Sucks" Pokemon Tournament held in honor of Devon Kobie to help make his wish of visiting Legoland a reality.

When I got there, there were several players already getting ready for the tournament and everyone seemed to be in high spirits. Unfortunately, Devon was unable to attend the tournament as he had spent the day up at Riley's Children's Hospital. That didn't stop the donations and support from pouring in, though. One of the coolest, and most original things about the fundraising tournament, was everyone who entered received a cancer ribbon featuring Devon's favorite Pokemon! It was a very cool memento to remember the event.

To help raise money, Comic Quest raffled off several prizes in order to help reach their goal of $4,000. I'm very happy to say that they were able to reach their goal and then some! It's truly amazing when a community comes together to support one of their own. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed support. And of course, have fun at Legoland, Devon!
