Old man winter isn't done with the Bluegrass state quite yet. Plunging temperatures overnight have prompted a Freeze Warning from the National Weather Service.

That means all those plants and vegetation that have been blooming early because of our warm weather could die in the cold snap.

And it's not just for tonight either. The Freeze Watch is in effect for tonight and Wednesday night.

Kentucky counties in the effected area are Davies, Henderson and Union. In Indiana, there is a Frost Warning for much of the southwestern portion of the state.

Kentucky could see 30-32 degree readings. In Indiana and Illinois the thermometer could dip from 29 to 32 degrees. That's why there's a Freeze Warning for several counties in those states.

The effected areas there are:

Illinois - Jefferson, Wayne and Perry

Indiana - Wabash, Franklin, Hamilton, Gibson and Pike

Cities in the warned area include Mount Vernon, Fairfield, Albion, Mount Carmel, Pickneyville, West Frankfort, McCleansboro, Fort Branch and Petersburg.

Meteorologists expect the freezing temps should only be around for about two actual hours, still long enough to cause damage.
