The City of Evansville announced plans for a new Kids Kingdom Playground Wednesday afternoon, and they want your help in its design!

The new park will be located on the Evansville Museum grounds, just south of the train museum, according to the Evansville Courier and Press.

The original playground off Waterworks Road across from Sunrise Park, which has stood for 15 years, and has been wildly popular with kids of all ages, including my own, will be torn down in order for the city to complete a federally mandated sewer project.

What the new playground will feature is still up in the air, that's where you and your kids come in. The City, along with designer Leather & Associates, are currently accepting ideas on what type of equipment to install by consulting the one group of people who will use it the most, the kids!

The survey, which can be downloaded from the City of Evansville website, features seven questions for kids including the type of equipment they like to play on, the type they least enjoy, and if they like their playgrounds to be colorful or not. There's also a blank page where kids can draw their ideal playground.

Completed surveys will be accepted through Tuesday, October 17th, and can be dropped off at the Evansville Parks Department office inside the C.K. Newsome Center on the corner of Walnut and Heidelbach, or e-mailed to mayor@evansville.in.gov.
