Somebody call Katy Perry because we are about to talk FIREWORKS. And lots of them, all over the Owensboro night sky.

As you might recall, last year's All-American Fourth of July celebration was altered to accommodate proper COVID-19 protocols. But what happened was RAVE REVIEWS for the new format. We had fireworks launched from multiple sights all over the city. I watched with my family over at that big yard next to the old GE building. It was awesome. And I wish I'd been somewhere like Utica, up on that big hill, to see what the town looked like that night.

Well, anyway, bottom line...it was such a rousing success that this is how the City of Owensboro will conduct the celebration THIS year.

And, again, WBKR will provide patriotic music by way of the WBKR app.

Three cheers (one red, one white, and one blue) for the city's decision to keep the change they made last year.

I can't wait.
