Thanks to Pinterest, Do-It-Yourself crafts have become extremely popular. So naturally, when I started planning my wedding, that was the first place I went. That's where I got the idea to ask my girls to be in my wedding with personalized wine bottles. The instruction on Pinterest acted like the process would be easy peasy lemon squeezy. Well, the instructions lied.

Getting the labels made was actually pretty simple. There are tons of websites that will do it for you, you just have to insert what you want the labels to say. So once that was done, I just had to wait for them to come in the mail. Eventually, they did, & they were perfect. I couldn't have been more excited to get started!

I just went out and bought my own bottles of Pinot Grigio to match the labels. But the bottles came with their own labels on them, so the first step was to remove those. The instructions said to fill my sink up with water, add a box of baking soda, let the bottles soak for 3-5 hours and "voilà" the labels would slide right off. Wrong. Those labels were clinging on for dear life.

I actually let them soak for over a day, & they still weren't coming off. I basically had to just scrape the labels until all of labels and adhesive came off. Oh and by me, I actually mean my fiancé. That poor man scrubbed glue off of those bottles for days. It was his first official task as groom, & he did well. He will have a lot of DIY projects in his future.

Once all of the glue FINALLY came off of the bottles, the labels were easy to put on and they turned out great. But I will probably never attempt this again. But I will say that according to social media, they seemed to be a huge hit....
