I have been to New Orleans many times.  I have walked on Bourbon Street, shopped around for voodoo dolls, eaten delicious food and sought a sip of the infamous cocktail, the Hurricane.  However, I have never been to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

Well, this year, I can go and not even leave the house.  You can too!

Nola.com is hosting a three-night Mardi Gras celebration called Mardi Gras for All Ya'll.  Here's a sneak preview of what you can expect.

The three-day virtual event is set for Friday, February 12th, Saturday, February 13th and Sunday, February 14th.  The party begins at 8pm each night.

According to Nola.com's online sneak peek, Mardi Gras for All Ya'll  will feature "90 individual segments" which will include 51 New Orleans/Mardi Gras features and 20 musical performances.  I personally think this sounds like a really cool way to experience the "party" at home.

COVID-19 has certainly forced the City of New Orleans to re-imagine Mardi Gras this year.  A huge staple of the annual festival is the Carnival-like series of parades.  Well, here's how folks are adapting to a year in which there won't be any.  They're turning their homes into floats.  This is an incredible idea!

And, of course, a big part of any Mardi Gras celebration is the King Cake.  And while you'd have to drive the 668 miles from Owensboro to New Orleans to enjoy a King Cake in natural Mardi Gras habitat, we're fortunate enough to have access to them right here in the tristate.  For instance, I work right next door to Great Harvest Bread Company and they make a mean King Cake that's absolutely delicious.

So, get you a King Cake at your bakery of your choice, grab your phone, your laptop or plop down in front of your smart TV and get ready to enjoy Mardi Gras for All Ya'll.

You can watch it on Nola.com or YouTube!
