You may have heard the "law" concerning Trick or Treating over the age of 12 in Virginia. The law states that anyone over the age of 12 caught trick or treating could end up with a maximum of 6 months in jail. Sure, the police have said they aren't going to enforce this, but you might be wondering what the laws are in our area.

According to Officer Phil Smith from the Evansville Police Department, there is no such law in Indiana concerning age limit or curfew. Granted, you probably shouldn't be wandering the streets at 2am on Halloween night.

The same applies to Owensboro, as Adam Johnston from the Owensboro Police Department basically said the same as Officer Smith.

So no, you aren't going to jail for Trick or Treating and being a little bit older. Have a safe and happy Halloween!
