Thousands of kids across the state are out of school today as teachers ban together to demand better pay.

The #RedforEd movement is driving Indiana teachers to the statehouse Tuesday for Red for Ed Action Day. Red for Ed is part of a national movement encouraging communities to wear red and show support for public education.

According to Fox 59, the rally is set to begin at 9 a.m. on the statehouse south lawn. It also happens to be the first day lawmakers are back for the 2020 legislative session.

Professional development requirement repealed

Indiana is 36th in the nation for average teacher pay.
