SNL’s Dead Poet’s Society Parody [SNL Rewind]

Last night wrapped up Saturday Night Live's 41st season!  While overall I thought it was a pretty good season, I definitely think that the show went on a bad note.

Drake Destroys on SNL [SNL Rewind]

This weekend, Drake pulled double duty on Saturday Night Live serving as BOTH host and musical guest!  Even as a fan of Drake, I was surprised at how natural he was with his hosting duties.  His episode was pretty solid, but his monologue was my absolute favorite!  In his monologue, Drake performs a song called "More Than a Meme" in which he acknowledges some of the goofy online pictures he's been inserted into.  If you missed it, it's a must-see!

Church Lady Returns to SNL [SNL Rewind]

There are three more episodes left in Saturday Night Live's historic 41st season!  This weekend show was hosted by Brie Larson with musical guest Alicia Keys.  I found the episode to be so-so, however I was very excited right off the bat when the first person I see on the screen is Dana Carvey in full "Church Lady" regalia!

Saturday Night Live Was a Tribute to Prince [SNL Rewind]

This weekend, the whole world was mourning the loss of musical icon Prince.  Saturday Night Live even dumped their original plans for this weekend's episode and opted to memorialize the fallen idol with memorable musical performances and sketches starring the amazing Prince.  It's a must-see for Prince fans and/or SNL fans, and was much better than the presumed rerun they had scheduled to air.  While I wish I could share one of Prince's captivating musical performances, due to copyright issues I'm not able to.  However, here is a sketch featuring Fred Armisen portraying the eccentric performer in an episode of the faux "Prince Show!"

Nick Jonas Gets All Hot and Sweaty on SNL [SNL Rewind]

This weekend, Julia Louis-Dreyfus returned for the third time to host Saturday Night Live!  While most people likely know Dreyfus best as Elaine Benice from TV's Seinfeld, she actually is also an alumni from SNL's "dark ages" of the early 1980s during the few years Lorne Michaels was not producing the show.  The episode wasn't great, but I enjoyed her comedic ability.  Nick Jonas got in on the fun a few times as well, including this sketch in which he appears as a semi-clad landscaper.  What more do I need to say, ladies?

SNL’s Pogie Pepperoni’s Spoofs Chuck E Cheese [SNL Rewind]

As Saturday Night Live's fortieth season begins to wind down, Russell Crowe and musical guest Margo Price delivered what I thought was a somewhat disappointing episode.

Check Out Gwen Stefani in “Space Pants” [SNL Rewind]

This weekend Peter Dinklage hosted a pretty solid episode of "Saturday Night Live" in my opinion.  Musical guest Gwen Stefani was the musical guest and even joined in on the fun during one of the sketches.  It was so absurd and goofy that I can't help but laugh every time I see it!  Watch Peter Dinklage and Gwen Stefani collaborate on my new favorite song, "Space Pants," below!

Jay Pharoah Impersonates Every Comedian [SNL Rewind]

I'll be honest, Saturday Night Live this weekend with host Jonah Hill and musical guest Future was pretty weak.  But even the worst episodes of SNL have something positive worth laughing at.  This week it was Jay Pharoah and his impersonation of every black comedian having a secret meeting at Eddie Murphy's house.  And honestly, it's not the FUNNIEST thing I've ever seen, but these impressions are DEAD-ON!

SNL Mocks the Oscar Nominees [SNL Rewind]

While I had high expectations for this weekend's episode, especially with a host like Ronda Rousey and musical guest Selena Gomez, I thought this weekend's Saturday Night Livewas maybe the worst episode this season.  I don't blame Ronda, she seemed like a good sport (although I did notice she seemed nervous at points and talked abnormally fast), but the writing was mostly a miss with me.  There were a few sketches though that definitely got a few laughs out of me, including this one called "Screen Guild Awards" which satirizes the Oscar nominations recently announced.

SNL Remembers Aladdin [SNL Rewind]

Star Wars' Adam Driver was in the house hosting the first new episode of "Saturday Night Live" of 2016!  The episode was decent, I suppose, although not one of my favorites.  I've never been a fan of the Star Wars movies and don't know Adam Driver from, well, Adam.  Additionally, have a country music artist like Chris Steapleton isn't going to add my excitement, either.  However, there was one sketch that easily stood out as my favorite.  Check out how Adam Driver and Cecily Strong teamed up as Aladdin and Princess Jasmine to parody Disney's Aladdin's "A Whole New World" magic carpet ride!
