Harry Styles Performs “Sign of the Times” [SNL Rewind]

Yes, even though I'm here at the gorgeous Holiday Inn Resort in Panama City Beach, Florida, I still was up in my room in time to catch Saturday Night Live this weekend.  I'm not sure if it's because I had so much excitement here at the resort, or if maybe I had higher expectations from a show hosted for SNL-alumni Jimmy Fallon, but for whatever reason I felt a little let down by the episode.  I know a lot of people have been sharing the video of Melissa McCarthy reprising her role as White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer (which was funny, but honestly the least funny appearance she's had), and there wasn't a whole lot more worth noting.  However, I really enjoyed musical guest Harry Styles and I LOVE his new song "Sign of the Times."  So I'm going to share that this week, as well as his second performance of a new song called "Ever Since New York."

SNL, Louis C.K. Take on Social Media Warriors – Thank You, Scott [SNL Rewind]

We ALL know them.  Those "clicktivists" who think they're making a change in the world by sharing an article on Facebook.  Heck, I know DOZENS of them and during the election season I think these people were the ONLY people in my news feed!  This week's Saturday Night Live (with the help of host Louis C.K.) poked some fun at these self-righteous nuisances in a sketch I thought was hysterical called "Thank You, Scott."

Lorde and Scarlett Johansson Celebrate National Women’s Day With SNL [SNL Rewind]

Scarlett Johansson joined the elusive "Five-Timers Club" (and even picked up the nifty jacket) this weekend when she hosted Saturday Night Live for the FIFTH time!  Joined by musical guest Lorde (who sounded great despite what sounded to me like some technical difficulties plaguing her first performance of "Green Light"), Johansson took herself a little less seriously than usual with the cast of SNL and the results were pretty solid in my opinion!

Every Woman Can Probably Relate to This Sketch [SNL Rewind]

This weekend's live episode of Saturday Night Live was kind of love/hate for me...  I loved the first half and hated the second half!  While Octavia Spencer is an amazing actress and has an amazing resume in Hollywood, I'm not positive live sketch comedy is her forte so to speak.  Regardless, there were some true highlights of the episode, all of which happened during the first half of the broadcast.  Check out this sketch called "Girl at a Bar" that a bet you a large portion of the women in the audience can definitely relate to!

First Look at Beyonce’s Twins [SNL Rewind]

This weekend's "Saturday Night Live" was the best episode in a LONG time!  This is coming from a man who has seen almost every episode of the show.  Host Alec Baldwin was fantastic hosting for a record-breaking SEVENTEENTH time!  Between Baldwin's portrayal of President Donald Trump, Melissa McCarthy's doofy interpretation of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, and Kate McKinnon's scathing portrayal of Kelly Anne Conway calling back to the days of Fatal Attraction, it was an extremely politically charged episode of "SNL!"

Totino’s Ad Parody Becomes Make-Out Session on SNL [SNL Rewind]

This weekend's Saturday Night Live, hosted by Kristen Stewart, was much talked about.  Not only did you have Alec Baldwin once again reviving his beloved impersonation of President Trump, you had the massively viral portrayal of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer by the hilarious Melissa McCarthy!  I saw those sketches over and over in my news feed Sunday.

One sketch you may not have seen in your news feed, though, was this commercial parody of Totino's Pizza Rolls.  It stars host Kristen Stewart and cast member Vanessa Bayer and things get a little...  Steamy to say the least.

Shondra & Malik – A Love Story? [SNL Rewind]

This weekend was the first live episode of Saturday Night Live in 2017.  To be honest, I was a little underwhelmed by host Felicity Jones and musical guest Sturgill Simpson.  The episode was a little subpar in my opinion, although I still love Alec Baldwin's impression of President-Elect Donald Trump (in his own special, um, watergate scandal).

Kristen Wiig Can’t Keep a Thanksgiving Secret [SNL Rewind]

Kristen Wiig came home to host Saturday Night Live this weekend for their Thanksgiving episode.  While still featuring a few politically charged sketches, this weekend's show focused more on the holidays and less on the election that we as a nation are still dealing with.  I thought Wiig did a solid job hosting, although I was hoping for a better episode from such a notable and talented alumni.

Dave Chappelle’s Election Night Party [SNL Rewind]

This weekend's Saturday Night Live was epic!  It was funny, it was edgy, it was emotional, it was relevant, it was talked-about...  It was EVERYTHING I want SNL to be!  Featuring the incredible talent of A Tribe Called Quest as musical guest, Dave Chappelle had the honor of hosting the first episode since the historic 2016 Presidential Election and he really made it count.
