Samstrong.org, a website started by Newburgh resident and former St. Jude patient, Sam Featherstone, held a fundraiser at St. John the Baptist church in Newburgh Thursday night   for the Memphis, Tennessee based children's hospital. Thanks to the tri-state's generosity, they were able to collect a sizable amount money.

When the night was all said and done, $183,000 was raised. Every penny of which will go directly to fund research at St. Jude for the treatment of pediatric brain cancer. The money was raised through tickets sales and the auctioning of items such as an autographed soccer ball from Indiana University's national champion men's soccer team, a Jason Aldean ultimate fan package which included tickets and backstage passes for his April 25th show at the Ford Center, Coach purses, a couples massage, and even a guitar autographed by country music superstar Kenny Chesney.

If you weren't able to attend the event, but would still like to make a monetary donation, you can do that online through Sam's St. Jude tribute page.
