Comic Quest Holding Fundraiser Tonight for Teen Fighting Cancer

As the resident geek of the station, I'm a huge fan of Comic Quest and the products and services they sell. I'm very happy to share with what they are doing for one of their own.

One of the members of their Pokemon Trading Card Game, Devon Kobie, is fighting cancer for the fourth time in his short life. His favorite thing in the world is hanging out at Comic Quest and playing Pokemon with his friends. It's these amazing friends that have started a GoFundMe to help fulfill Devon's last wish: he wants to visit Legoland out in California.

The GoFundMe has already raised more than 3/4's of their goal of $4,000 to help make this trip happen. Comic Quest, however, has stepped up, and is holding a Pokemon Tournament tonight at 5pm. All of the entry fees will be donated directly to the GoFundMe! It's going to be a great night of great gaming all for a great cause!

December 16, 2015 – Evansville, Ind. - Evansville teenager Devon Kobie has been fighting cancer since he was just 14 months old, but that has never stopped him from enjoying life to the fullest. He has been playing Pokemon and been a member of the Evansville Pokemon League for many years. Recently his cancer returned and his fight isn't looking good. He has made a final wish to travel to LegoLand in California and Comic Quest, along with the local community, is working to help his family make that wish come true.

 Another local Pokemon League member started a GoFundMe to help raise the funds Kobie's family needs to make his wish come true. A lifetime of medical bills make a trip like this financially difficult for the family, but they have told him he will get to go. The teenager is very excited about his upcoming trip and the family hopes his high spirits will help him fight this battle with his cancer.

 Comic Quest's Pokemon League is hosting a Pokemon Tournament on Friday, Dec. 18 and all entry fees will be donated to Devon Kobie's GoFundMe to help make his final wish become reality. The tournament sign-up begins at 5 p.m. and the entry fee is $6.
