Tons of products are made each year for consumption and lots of those products are geared specifically toward women.  With women making up half of the population, one would think that products geared toward us would always be great!  Unfortunately, many of these products fall flat.  Here are 8 products geared toward women that really, truly suck:

1. Birth Control Options

No matter what you choose for birth control, it pretty much sucks in one way or another if you're a woman. You are either stuck taking a hormone regularly with a myriad of potential side effects including mood swings, gaining weight, irregular periods etc. or you're stuck using a product that slides around, gets sticky, feels uncomfortable, and overall takes most of the pleasure out of everything. No birth control seems to be as awful or effective as your pre-existing children though.

2. Unnecessary Feminized products

There are so many stupid products out there branded for women that shouldn't be. The one that made headlines recently were BIC Pens for Women, cause women need super special pens, right? Among some of these unnecessary feminized products are gendered foods, gendered tools, and even laxitive for women. Because since you're going to poop, it needs to be feminine poop, amirite?

3. Lingerie

Lingerie is supposed to make us feel confident and sexy!  However, some pieces of lingerie are terrible. I dare you to try on a neon mesh body suit that was made in China and NOT look like a potato in it. Not to mention, it's pretty uncomfortable trying to maneuver around and still look sexy in the equivalent of a mesh fishing net.

4. Women's Deodorant

Women's deodorant is awful because it doesn't conceal stink or sweat at all. It's almost like the manufacturers thought it would be fine if women were to have pit stains and stink like hot garbage as long as it was mixed with the overwhelming odor of freshly powdered baby butts.

5. Waist trainer

Some women may disagree on this one, but why buy a waist trainer? It's such a, well, waste! Waist trainers are expensive, horribly uncomfortable, and aren't proven to always produce results. Why should we pay someone to produce a product that suffocates us for the promise of a slightly smaller waist?

6. Hair Removal Products or Services

Hair removal products such as Nair are terrible, because they often leave patches of undissolved hair and patches of red, irritated skin. It just doesn't work well, especially for people with sensitive skin. Laser hair removal is another option, but it's super expensive, takes multiple sessions, and can be rather embarrassing depending on the area you're having treated.  Just let the hair grow and cover it with leggings. Whatevs.

7. Sunless Tanner

If you'd like a fake tan with streaks galore, sunless tanner is for you! Seriously though, how are we supposed to get this lotion smeared all over our bodies over every surface consistently when we can't even reach all the parts of our body that need sunless tanner? There's almost a 100% chance that 75% of you will end up an unnatural shade of burnt orange.

8. Menstrual products

Pads, tampons, menstrual cups, oh my! We depend on them every month and you'd think since women have been having periods since the beginning of time that these products would improve every year, especially with technology on the rise but...not really. They're all uncomfortable, and all messy. They all suck, but at least it's not just a folded rag in our underpants anymore.  We need new, magical menstrual products ASAP!
