Warrick Humane Society hosted their first ever Tails on Trails and it was a huge success!

Every Saturday morning for the foreseeable future, Warrick Humane Society will be hosting their Tails on Trails community event from 8-9:30 a.m. This past Saturday was their kick-off for the program, and the turnout was incredible.

Tails on Trails is a volunteering event where people from around the community can come walk shelter dogs. Walking the pups is beneficial to them because it allows them time outside of their kennel and also helps exercise and socialize them.

The shelter only had 15 dogs available for adoption at the time of the event, which is a good problem to have. However, more than triple that showed up to walk the dogs. That was good for the dogs though, because it allowed some of them to have a lot more attention and double the walks!

The dogs have color-coordinated collars on which describes their behavior. Based on a short survey you complete upon registration, the shelter workers will place you with a dog they believe best suites you.
