Zombie Apocalypse

During the news this morning Kat read a great story that came out of Great Falls, Montana.  A local TV station got hacked somehow, and during an especially-compelling edition ofThe Steve Wilkos Show,an EAS alert was issued.  This was not a traditional thunderstorm or tornado warning...

Halloween and Zombies go together like bread and butter (or maybe its graveyards and ghouls) either way with All Hallow's Eve about a week away - not to mention our 2nd Annual Zombie Walk - we're serving up the treats a little early - an interview with Max Brooks, author of the Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z.

We've all likely seen at least one zombie movie in our life. We know that the undead have an insatiable appetite for brains, but what happens when a zombie falls in love with one of the living? If only someone would write a love song about it... Oh wait! They did!

Somehow I don't think that pretending to be a brain eating zombie in Miami is a safe prank to pull. In fact, it almost got one guy shot.

Over the Memorial Day weekend, a homeless man in Miami, FL,was discovered cannibalizing the face of another homeless man. Ronald Poppo, 65, was viciously attacked by 31-year-old Rudy Eugene in a gory assault which ended in law enforcement officials shooting and killing Eugene.

This morning, while dealing with listeners who were upset with Kat's opinions about video games, one listener accused Kat of being ill-prepared for the forthcoming zombie uprising.  This is actually the SECOND time we have discussed Kat's laziness towards preparing for this occasion...

So in getting us prepared for anything... you know... Tornadoes, Floods... Zombie Apocalypse?!?! the CDC has issued a list of instructions for preparing for EVERY possible emergency situation. EVEN a Zombie Apocalypse! ...but where do zombies come from and why do they love eating brains so much...
