Toyota Indiana is celebrating 30 years in Princeton with millions invested, 8 million vehicles built, and new grants supporting southwest Indiana communities.
In addition to the supplies, TMMI has donated $100,000 to the United Way of Southwestern Indiana and $11,100 to support 3 blood drives with the American Red Cross.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing issued two recalls of 3.37 million vehicles Wednesday morning, citing possible faults in the airbag deployment system and fuel tanks of certain models.
The auto manufacturer is recalling 20,000 vehicles due to a faulty weld on a fuel delivery pipe in the engine which could lead to an increased risk of fire.
Beginning in December, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana will add production of the new Highlander Hybrid to their operations in Princeton. With the extra work, comes the need for additional employees not only for Toyota themselves, but their suppliers as well.
