The 2022 USSSA Fastpitch Great Lakes Nationals are coming to the Evansville area, bringing 180 teams from around the country, ranging in ages from eight to 18.
Over 200 youth softball teams from across Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois, along with some from as far away as Michigan, Ohio, and Missouri, will compete at Deaconess Sports Park on North Green River Road beginning Monday, July 18th when the National Softball Association brings their Fast Pitch 'B' Softball World Series to Evansville.
On Saturday, the Mater Dei Wildcats Girls Softball Team will compete in the IHSAA Class 2A state championship game for the first time in the program's history when they face the Boone Grove Wolves out of Valparaiso, Indiana. The game will take place at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis at 12:30 p.m. Evansville time. Fortunately, if you can't make the game, it will be carried live by Fox Sports

Even though it doesn't fell like baseball weather right now, Spring will be here before you know it, and children from all over the Tri-State will be gearing up to hit diamonds across the area.
