I am not a fan of any type of mosquito, but there's a warning about one in Illinois that you definitely don't want to mess with. It's an invasive pest that isn't supposed to be here in the first place, but it is now a reality. Beware that they carry diseases and bite like a tiger.

It was simply a matter of time. With the number of mosquitos that seem to take over Illinois and Missouri during the summertime, the fact that a potentially severe mosquito-borne illness is now confirmed in the area should not come as a surprise.

Warmer weather means an increased number of mosquito-borne illnesses, including the wretched West Nile virus.

I wish 2020 would just stop pounding us SO hard. It’s just one thing after another. And, as much as I don't want to add anything to your plate, I feel this is worth noting.

Mosquitoes with the West Nile Virus have been found in Vanderburgh County
