It seems that the Parents Televison Council has taken a severe disliking to Rihanna's latest video for "Man Down." In fact the according to CNN...

The video, which premiered on the BET cable channel Tuesday, "gives retaliation in the form of premeditated murder the imprimatur of acceptability," the Parents Television Council said in a news release.

The founder of the council's "Enough is Enough" anti-violence campaign called the video "a clear violation of BET's own programming guidelines."

Rihanna is not taking the criticism lightly. From The Holywood Reporter...

Rihanna is firing back at the Parents Television Council and other groups that are criticizing her violent new music video for "Man Down."

"I'm a 23 year old rockstar with NO KIDS! What's up with everybody wantin me to be a parent?” she Tweeted Wednesday. “I'm just a girl, I can only be your/our voice! We have the freedom to make art, LET US! Its your job to make sure they dont turn out like US. U can't hide your kids from society, or they'll never learn how to adapt! This is the REAL WORLD."

Now, I'll give you my 2 cents, because well, that's what I do! It is art. Period. I AM a parent, and as a parent it is MY responsibility to teach my daughter what is right and wrong, real and make-believe.

Good grief! You should have seen the look on her face when I told my 12 year old what she was singing about when she was singing along to S&M without missing a word! She still sang it the next time that she heard it, but at least she knew what she was singing about. She was informed. Maybe I'm a little on the liberal side when it comes to some things. I tend to NOT censor music around my daughter. I am not naive enough to think that she doesn't know "those" words, or what they mean. She's going into 7th grade & she is not an idiot. I view music as art. I view art as art. I would never think to censor her from seeing a great classic piece of art because it were nude, why would I prohibit her from listening to music?

OK, off of the soap box! Haven't seen Rihanna's video for "Man Down" yet? You can check it out and decide for yourself.
