Parks and Recreation, YMCA and WorkOne to Host Free Job Fair

The Department of Parks and Recreation, the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana, and WorkOne Southwest are excited to announce the first annual Summer Employment Job Fair. Whether you want a fresh start on a new job, a better job, or a new career direction, job seekers will find organizations looking to fill various positions.

The Summer Employment Job Fair will be held in two sessions and is free for the public. Organizations in attendance will include Swonder Ice Arena and Swonder Fitness Center, Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden, the Dream Center, WorkOne Southwest, and the YMCA.

Session 1
When: March 2, 2019
Where: C.K. Newsome Community Center
100 E. Walnut Street.
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Session 2
Date: March 7, 2019
Location: YMCA
222 N.W. 6^th Street
Time: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

“The goal of this job fair is to highlight the need for lifeguards at our pools. We are offering many new incentives to those 15 year old and older boys and girls who apply for new or recertification,” said Lisa Wube, director of programs for the Parks Department. “The job fair will create a conduit between businesses that need employees and students looking for career opportunities in the Evansville area. This is also a great short-term opportunity for graduates looking for summer work.”
