Owensboro’s First Annual Sunflower & Pickle Festival Promises To Be Fun & Delicious This Weekend!
This weekend promises to be super fun as Owensboro's First Annual Sunflower & Pickle Festival takes place on Saturday.
WHERE'S ALL THE PICKLE FUN
The festival is happening at The Cottage on Hwy 56. Marlena Knight and her husband, David own Knight farms on Highway 56. The Cottage is a sweet and welcoming old farmhouse with a going to grandma's house feel on the west end of Daviess County.
When Marlena first opened The Cottage she said she wanted to bring the community closer together and she has been doing that with fun events and activities at The Cottage.
It will take place from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.
WHAT TO EXPECT
I had the opportunity to chat with Marlena about the festival and she told me it is going to be a blast. There are three different Sunflower patches where you can roam and take photos. They will have a scavenger hunt set up in the sunflowers as well. It's a time to come and enjoy the end of the summer in the best possible way making memories with your friends and family and the folks at The Cottage.
PICKLED EVERYTHING!
If you love pickles prepare your tastebuds. They will be pickling everything in sight. From Fried Dill Pickles, Pickle Popsicles, Pickle Corn Muffins, Pickle Popcorn, Pickle Juice Shots, Pickle Cotton Candy, and a variety of canned pickles and pickle dips.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
On Saturday there will be a Pop N' Paint Class if you want to find your creative side or just get totally messy with paints.
Our family visits The Cottage quite often and we love getting min muffins or having lunch together and just hanging out. They have a quaint little coffee shop and the best caramel bars on this side of heaven. These kids always ask if we can visit.
