The City of Owensboro and Owensboro Parks and Recreation have announced additional reopenings of city properties.

In addition to the current locations that are open and where safe social distancing and adherence to state and CDC guidelines is strongly encouraged, Owensboro Parks and Rec announced the following openings for Monday, June 15th:

§ Youth Ball Diamonds

§ Youth Sports Leagues who utilize City locations following the Governor’s Youth Sports Guidelines

§ Youth golf lessons, camps, and programs

§ Castlen Dog Park

The Parks & Rec press release adds that on June 22nd, park restrooms at Ben Hawes, Legion Park, and Moreland Park will reopen to the public. Also on that day, picnic shelters may once again be reserved, with capacities kept to 50 persons or less.

Also, the Parks and Recreation Administrative Center is open to the public with a capacity of three guests at any given time.

Visitors will be required to wear masks.

Park fixtures such as playgrounds and other sports courts and fields remain closed.
