Bosse Field is celebrating 100 years of existence this year, and will receive a new video board as a birthday gift.

In my opinion, a new video board is something that Bosse Field has sorely needed. While I'm sure it was the height of technology when it debuted however many years ago, it felt like playing an Atari 2600 while the rest of the world was enjoying a Playstation 4.

To be clear, the park is NOT getting a new scoreboard. The new display will sit inside the existing board which means the scoreboard will still require a person to physically hang numbers at the conclusion of each half inning, which I like. It keeps the heritage of the ballpark intact while sprucing up the presentation a bit.

The official unveiling will take place at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday during a press conference at Bosse Field, and will be used for the first time during Wednesday night's double-header against the Gateway Grizzlies.
