This is a really unique and fun idea.  Mary Carrico Catholic School in Knottsville is hosting a new fundraiser called The Wall of Money!  As you are aware, COVID-19 has affected fundraising across the board for so many different organizations.  Mary Carrico, for instance, wasn't able to host its annual picnic or other fundraisers due to the pandemic.  So, the staff got creative and came up with this!

It's the Wall of Money and here's how it works.  Members of the community are asked to visit the wall, take an envelope and donate the amount of money indicated.  In addition to the public being invited to participate, the students have gotten involved as well with a little friendly competition.

According to Jenny Howard, whose sons (Grant and Greyson) attend the school, "a couple of kids from the school have taken and envelope and used their own money to fill it."  Plus, former Mary Carrico classes are challenging other classes to fill the highest envelope amounts.  Those dollar amounts, as you'll see in The Wall of Money challenge below, run from $1 to $400.

As you know, students in local Catholic schools have already returned to class for the school year (though students in the Daviess County Public School and Owensboro Public School Systems are currently learning virtually).  When they returned to class last week, Jenny said, "I saw smiles on my kids' faces that I haven't seen in a long time."

If you'd like to participate in The Wall of Money fundraiser, follow the guidelines above!
